INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

What is the BaD Internship Program?

Build a Dream recognizes the importance and impacts of experiential learning for students in the community. Our team is excited to offer students in our community with immersive opportunities to work within our organization and alongside our talented team of leaders.

Grounded in a Mentorship and Learning framework, the Build a Dream Internship Program is dedicated to giving back to our student community by offering diverse internship opportunities across multiple departments within the organization. The program fosters professional growth, enhances career readiness, and provides meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students, community members, and partners. The structure of the program is rooted in Baranik’s research linking mentoring supports specific to the needs of an organization to organizational success (2010).

What makes the BaD Internship Program standout?

We at Build a Dream are committed to differentiated learning and growth based on strengths. Students will have the opportunity to work in a department of their choosing and most aligned with their professional or academic aspirations. Offering hands-on learning begins with ensuring meaningful learning opportunities. The BaD Internship Program allows students to learn and grow in the fields they aspire to be a part of, offering them real-life, tangible, and relevant experiences that may serve them in future employment searches, CV building, and professional growth!

We are excited to offer interships in the following departments, please note availability is dependent on time of year and departmental needs.

Who can volunteer?

We encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering with the organization to apply. Whether you are a high school student looking for community service hours, a partner looking to get involved on a deeper level, or a community looking to give back- all are welcome and encouraged to volunteer!

Note: Must be 16+ years of age to volunteer.

What is the difference between the Volunteer Program and Internship?

The Internship Program is structured in a way that ensures consistent hours are put in, specific tasks are assigned and immersed into the day-to-day operations of the organization. Internships will typically be two-four months in length, with the expectation of 21/hrs. a week. Interns will also be subject to performance reviews throughout their time at Build a Dream.

The Volunteer Program is structured differently as there is no set expectation or timeframe associated with volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will be contacted on a need-by-need basis based on their volunteer interests. Volunteers will not be assessed or subject to any form of performance review.

How can I sign up to be a volunteer?
